Christmas Gift Ideas for Knitters, Crocheters and Stitchers
Knitters, crocheters and stitchers alike, we all love our hobbies dearly. We create beautiful things to cherish, often squirrel away our treasured stash for when it’s time to start something new and take care of our precious hooks and needles. The only thing is with creative crafts, there is nearly always a dazzling new project or accessory that will catch our magpie like eye. We never do come to the end of this bewitching hobby and are excited to add a new addition.
When it comes to gifts for crafters we have got you covered. Whether you are looking for inspiration for a Christmas gift or perhaps a birthday present, there is a little something in here for everyone.
Let's start with something super cosy.
Lilla Björn Furry Cloud Cowl kit
What a scrumptious cowl for winter! This knitted cowl kit comes with the pattern by Lilla Björn and all of the yarn you need to make it. Knitted in Scheepjes Furry Tales and Scheepjes River Washed. As the name suggests it's as soft as a cloud, you could snuggle up in this for days! We’ve got the original colourway in stock (as seen on pic) and a pinky red option.
Lykke needles in any size, shape or form are a very popular choice amongst customers at Black Sheep Wools. If a member of staff is looking to buy a new pair of needles, the Lykke wall is where they are likely to be heading. This set of double pointed needles are ideal for intricate knitting in the round with finer yarns, perfect for knitting socks! The Lykke needles are made from birch wood, designed to be durable and light to work with. DPN’s can have a tendency to get lost at the bottom of your knitting bag. This handy case with a magnetised closure is great for keeping them all together.
Rowan Pure Cashmere DK
This may be one of the most expensive and luxurious yarns we currently stock. It’s 100% cashmere fibre and it is divine. Described by Rowan as ‘buttery soft’ with a ‘strokable feel’, this yarn would be a treat for you and your knitting needles or crochet hook. These warm, festive shades have tickled our taste buds. If you are wondering what project to make with this delightful yarn, then take a look through the patterns in the Rowan Pure Cashmere book.
Embroidery hoop kit
A new selection of embroidery hoop kits have just arrived in time for Christmas from DMC. Beautiful floral designs to stitch and display in the hoop when finished. Hoop art is becoming quite a fashionable way of displaying artwork, needlecraft or even crochet or macrame. A group of these designs would be a focal point on your wall.
Knitpro Zing straight needle set
We’ve just added four different lengths of KnitPro Zing Single-Ended Knitting Pin sets to our website - 25cm, 30cm , 35cm and 40cm. The sets include 8 sets of needles 2.5, 3.0, 3.5, 4.0, 4.5, 5.0, 5.5, 6.0mm. All housed in a navy and red, bold striped zip case. The Zing range from Knitpro are bright and jolly metallic shades for each needle size with a silver tip. The interchangeable needle tips have been favourites amongst staff for a long time now. We can see these needles flying off the shelves!
Fripperies and bibelots stitch markers
Fripperies and Bibelots make the most divine stitch markers. They are so beautiful you could actually consider wearing them as jewellery. The stitch markers shown in the photo below are for lace knitting, so they are tiny RingO’s. We stock all of the RingO’s range including XL and sock knitting stitch markers.
Cohana Yuzen Leather Tape Measure
This is a luxury treat for your craft kit. A leather cased tape measure from Cohana. It comes in a lovely little box, wrapped with elastic showcasing a snippet leather swatch of the tape measure design. It's an extra special treat for your knitting or crochet bag. Every crafter knows how handy a tape measure is when they are busy making something.
Betwixtmas shawl
This year we have worked with designer Lynne Rowe to bring you the Betwixtmas shawl 2020. Lynne has designed a colour work shawl using two shades of DK, inspired by Scandinavian snowfall. We’ve got 3 kits to choose from, including the pattern, postcard, Rowan yarn (choose from Island Blend, Alpaca Soft DK or SoftYak DK) and exclusive stitch marker. This would make a gorgeous gift for a knitter and they can enjoy casting on at Betwixtmas, in between Christmas and New Year.
If you are spoilt for choice with all of these suggestions or feel that it might be better to leave the decision making to the recipient, then how about a gift card or e-gift voucher?
