Bullfinch Blanket by Esther Dijkstra from It's all in a Nutshell
Pick & Mix - Create a knitted or crocheted blanket using a Limited Edition Mega Whirl! Using this (almost) 3km-long yarn cake, create a beautifully draping blanket with a soft colourway inspired by the shades of this lovely little Bullfinch bird.
Esther’s designs showcase the classic colour changes for which our Whirl yarn is known, incorporating repeated mitred square motifs in each of the crochet and knit techniques.
Esther will be releasing blogposts and helpful tips throughout the four weeks of the CKAL, typically on Wednesdays at 12 noon CEST. The information provided by Esther will include videos, extra photos, handy tips and additional details to aid participants.
The Scheepjes CKAL Bullfinch Blanket Kit contains the following materials:
- 1 x Scheepjes Mega Whirl 666g per cake (60% cotton 40% acrylic)
- Set of 3 postcards
- Tote Bag
The free crochet and knitting pattern is available via the Scheepjes website in, English (UK & US) and via the official Scheepjes Facebook groups. Beginning on 17 July 2024, this 4 week CKAL is not to be missed!
You will also need knitting or crochet hooks and accessories for both versions.
These are not included in the kit.
For the crocheted version these are:
- 1 x crochet hook in size 3mm
- 1 x stitch markers
Finished Size - 100 x 140cm blocked
And for the knitted version:
- 1 x pair of single pointed knitting needles or circular knitting needle in size 3.25mm
- closed stitch marker
- locking stitch marker
Finished Size - 110 x 150cm blocked
